CAROLINE QUERRY LUTZ DIES

  Carol Lutz Ms. Caroline “Carol” Querry Lutz, 76, wife of the late Marion Gene Lutz and a Faith Temple Church member, went to be with the Lord on Tues. night, April 2, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Daughter Annette Lutz said her mother was able to pick her own funeral clothes the day before she passed. Mini-strokes contributed to her death. “She was so ready to go home to her Lord,”Annette says. “She told us on Monday that she loved all of us and she was at peace with dying. She knew it was happening very soon.”  Mrs. Ann Burrows and Mrs. Sandra Martin, pianist, sang “It Is Well with My Soul” at the 1:00 p.m., Sat., April 6 funeral at Faith Temple, Taylors, SC.  “It was just Tuesday, a week ago, that I sat there in the home and had good conversation with Sister Carol,” the Rev.   Mary Bearden   The Faith Temple Church building, Taylors, SC, sits on land donated by Ms. Mary Collins Bearden. “The Mary Bearden Class” (Sunday School) is named in her honor.   The late Pastor James H. “Jimmy” Thompson, founding pastor of Faith Temple, would drive to Ms. Bearden's house, located on what is now Faith Temple’s cemetery property, and bring her to church. She attended Faith Temple from the time the original church building was dedicated on Dec. 15, 1957, exactly one year after the church was organized, until her death.   Ms. Mary Collins Bearden (1878-1962) married Edward Eugene Bearden (1885-1937), a livestock dealer and farmer who died at age 51. She died on her birthday, Aug. 24, at age 84. Lamar Breazeale and Wayne Nichols Pass On

   Two ministers associated with Faith Temple (FT) in the 1960s passed on recently. Both men are pictured in a FT youth choir photo taken when the Rev. Jim Bakker visited and preached at FT in 1963-64. The Rev. Richard Lamar Breazeale, 83, of Taylors, died on Jan. 22, 2024. He was once a FT associate pastor. The Rev. Wayne Nichols, 80, who died on Nov. 10, 2023, was from Kennesaw, Ga. He once served as FT’s youth pastor. His late wife, Mary, then worked at Faith Printing Co.

KEVIN LUTZ TALKS ABOUT HIS LIFE

  Kevin Lutz   Mr. Kevin Lutz, 59, spoke at the Sat., Jan. 7, 2024, Brotherhood meeting (8:30 a.m.) at Faith Temple, Taylors, SC. Kevin is a 26-year employee of N.W. White & Co., “the largest dump truck company in the Southeast (SC).” He refueled trucks when first hired but works now as a mechanic at their Anderson (Powdersville) site. He and wife Annette live in Travelers Rest and attend Enoree Baptist Church; they attended Faith Temple, years ago. “At Christmastime, we want to see Baby Jesus, but sometimes, we need to see him high and lifted up,” Kevin said. “No matter how hard it gets, we have hope.
