Brother DANNY PHILLIPS on Soul-Winning
“God didn’t recommend; he commanded,” said Brother Danny Phillips (pictured here) as he spoke on witnessing at Faith Temple’s Brotherhood meeting at 8:30 a.m., Sat., June 7, 2025, in Fleming Hall, Faith Temple, Taylors, SC.
Danny read “You Never Mentioned Him to Me,” a song by James Rowe. Here is a verse and the chorus:
“When in the better land before the bar we stand, how deeply grieved our souls may be if any lost one there should cry in deep despair, ‘You never mention Him to me. [Chorus] You never mentioned Him to me. You helped me not the light to see. You met me day by day and knew I was astray, yet never mentioned Him to me.’”
Danny said 95% of born-again Christians never lead a person to Christ and that cults pollute the Gospel with works-based ideas.
He read, “If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us” (1 John 8:10 ESV).
“The Holy Spirit convicts,” Danny said. “The acknowledgement of sin is foundational … No one measures up to Jesus. It’s our responsibility to witness for Christ.”
Danny quoted Jesus’ words, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matt. 28:19-20) and “… You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
